The legalization of same-sex “marriage” in Australia could push Christian churches out of their historic role in solemnizing legal marriages altogether, according to one archbishop.I applaud his decision! There is ABSOLUTELY NO reason a homosexual marriage can be performed in a Catholic Church. And, if it we legal I have no doubt in my mind that a poor Priest would be pressured to witness one.
Archbishop Barry Hickey of the archdiocese of Perth said late last month that the archdiocese would cancel its registration that allows it to celebrate legal marriages if the government attempted to force them to participate in same-sex ceremonies.
“We might be back to the ghetto,” Hickey told parishioners at St. Ninian and St. Chad in Maylands. “We can’t do those marriages at all. And if the law forces us to, we cancel our registration as marriage celebrants. We just don’t do it.”
Hickey added, “We continue to perform Church marriages but we can’t perform the marriage where there is a basic objection.”

The Biblical definition of marriage is the union of a man and a woman. Man can redefine the word 'marriage' as much as he likes, to include same sex, or even animals if he likes but he will never change God's definition of marriage.
Same sex marriage is abhorrent to Christians. If we were to take a pig into a mosque we would be arrested for a hate crime. Why are homosexuals not considered to be committing a hate crime by bringing same sex marriage into our churches. Our government would protect our synagogues and mosques from being desecrated by bringing that which is detestible into it's precincts. Why do they not do the same for our churches. Why, in fact, do they force us to allow these things into our churches?
