Guess who just came to my door?

Guess who just came to my door...it's obvious, and the answer is the Jehovah's Witness. They leave their "tracts" at my door all the time. They talk on and on about how only JW's will get into heaven, and they blabber on about their heretical sect. Well .... this is how I handle their magazine when they leave it at my door....
  1. DO NOT TOUCH THE MAGAZINE, it is full of germs and stuff.
  2. GET THE TONGS, or some other type of picker-upper.
  3. BE AS ROUGH AS YOU CAN BE WITH IT, make sure you tear it and, do not treat it with care.
  4. THROW IT AS HARD AS YOU CAN IN THE GARBAGE. engough said.

They have been down my way alot recently ..... they have converted nobody, thanks be to God. One time they started talking about how Pope John Paul II was an idolatrist.

Booooooooooooooooohoo.

The Pardon Crucifix

As 4 people have seen, I have posted a poll on the sidebar about the Pardon Crucifix, also known as the Crucifix of Pope St. Pius X. He granted many indulgences to people who use it. If you do not have one, the best place to get one would have to be here.

Whoever says the following prayer before the crucifix shall gain an indulgence ...

Our Father, who art in heaven
forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
Also, is you say this prayer before the crucifix, you shall gain an indulgence...
I Beg the Blessed Virgin Mary,
to pray to the Lord our God for me.

Reason #986,398,598 why Orthodoxy thrives...

Have you ever walked into a liberal parish and seen a child approximately 12 years old praying the Rosary? Probably Not. This is why orthodox parishes thrive more.

Big News! ACORN is dissolving!

ACORN is DISSOLVING!
Thanks BE TO GOD!
"The embattled liberal group ACORN is in the process of dissolving its national structure, with state and local-chapters splitting off from the underfunded, controversial national group, an official close to the group confirmed."

Sister Mathra of Pashra Buddha Baddhvista?

Sister Elaine MacInnes .... I am scared to know more about her. She is a nun, yet she is some sort of "zen master" I am confused. She's a what? Excuse me, but aren't nuns supposed to live a life of prayer, work and charity? They are not supposed to be meditating on a false god (buddha), and going around, blabbering about "roshi levels", which she says hrself are not high. What is it? Anyone knw more about her .... anyone?

The good sister has a kindly look on her face, but then again ... anybody can do that for a pose.

Te Deum Laudamus

Ahh .... I did not post again yesterday, so so busy. Now, I have gotten wind of this beautiful hymn. It is so triumphant, so beautful. Of course this is not the first time I have heard it, oh no. This is an old hymn, that starts off like this "Holy God, we". I am pretty sure you know what it is now. Unfortunately, the renditionI planned of posting has embedding disabled, so I will respect his wishes (I have no other choice, hehe). Here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXwpNBlpJsE.

This is a very common hymn. Yet, it never gets old!

The look of death....

I was watching the Olypics women's curling a few minutes ago, and the look on Germany's team, was the scariest thing I have ever seen (except for rainboy vestments)

Wednesday, 17 February 2010

"Dust thou art, and to Dust, thou shalt return"

"Remember, O man, that dust thou art, and to dust thou shalt return"
Listen, during Mass, today. Make sure the priest did't say anything like

  • Remember my brothers and sisters, that you are dust and to dust you will go back to

  • You are dirt, and to dirt you will return

  • You are dust, and then you shall go back to dust.

It would be highly unorthodox. No tie-dye vestments, no children lounging in the sanctuary (and I will be sure, that it probably wasn't the childrens decision, God Bless 'em), no clay chalices or patens, not pagan incense. You would (and still will some places) encounter many abuses like the ones I mentioned by Priests who have misinterpreted Vatican II (a.k.a. "Those who are {supposedly} in the Spirit of Vatican II!")

Memento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris

No, its not purple, its VIOLET!

Somebody else just subscribed to me on YouTube ... that makes 12 subscribers. Thank you, to DonAlessandroLoi. Today is Ash Wendsday, and the liturgical color is Violet, not purple, not "purple-blue-green-red-orange tie dye", it is Violet.

Poll!

Here is a poll. If you don't like it, I will most definately change it. I just went through a hard time with it, because I tried to add an image as a background using this thing called "PZTYME" or something like that, and then I went to the "Water Cooler" in Catholic Answers, and started a thread, and started to freak out....but then I realized the code background was in the two posts that the pztyme posted (yes, they automatically posted posts to my blog. I am disapointed). Now, and as I finally discovered how to remove it, I decided to try a new look for the blog too. How do you like it?

FSSP New Chapel on EWTN

Here is a reminder for a program coming on EWTN

I am Sick!

I am now sick. Sick of people throwing stones at our Church. I am sick of people saying things about our Church. I have had enough of this "anti-Catholicism" that is on the rise, and people accusing our good Priests of peing "pedophiles". I have recieved several messages on YouTube from this user, who keeps condemning our church. I ask him if he is an anti-Catholic, and then he responds "No, I am anti-institution" I then told him that that was the same thing, so now he has been sending messages to me attacking the church. He also needs some grammar lessons (*-*).

The most famous attack on our church, is that our priests are pedophiles. That is so, so untrue. There were pedophiles who snuck into the priesthood, and used the priesthood just to get to children; but that doesn't mean that Priests are pedophiles.

Another accusation is that we are idolaters. No, we do not, never will, and never think about worshipping statues.

Then that leads to the accusations that we worship Mary, and the Saints. Here is something I found on EWTN.

It starts off to say that this lady was at a wedding, where the groom was a recent convert to the Church, and some of his family were still protestant. So, the good priest added explanations at the appropriate times (when this is, I do not know)...but anyhow, this is what it says to that.

"When the time came for that gesture at this particular wedding, the priest
tried to explain. He said that the placing of the flowers is done because "we
Catholics worship Mary." There was a collective sigh from the few Catholics in
the church and a collective gasp from the non-Catholics, who felt their worst
suspicions confirmed.

Was the priest right or wrong? Well, both. He was right, given his
understanding of the word "worship," though he was using it an almost archaic
sense. He was surely wrong in using it in front of people who would
misunderstand his meaning.

In common speech "worship" means the adoration given to God alone. In
this sense Catholics don't worship Mary or any of the other saints. In fact, the
Catholic Church forbids any adoration to be given to any one or any thing but
God. But in an older use of the term "worship" could cover not just the
adoration of God but also the honor given to anyone deserving of honor.

Begin with the word itself. It comes from the Old English weorthscipe,
which means the condition of being worthy of honor, respect, or dignity. To
worship in the older, larger sense is to ascribe honor, worth, or excellence to
someone, whether a sage, a magistrate, or God.
But there are different kinds
of worship, just as there are different kinds of honor. The highest honor, and
thus the highest worship, is given to God alone, while the honor or worship
given to living men or to saints in heaven is of a different sort. Idolatry thus
does not simply mean giving worship (in the old sense) to living men or to
saints; it means giving them the kind reserved for God."

If you want to read the full article, it is Here.

Now, as you read above... it gives a pretty specific answer to how we honor Mary.

Please...if I was too negative in this post, let me know! I try not to be, thought sometimes it gets the best of me.

Oh Most Holy Mother of God ... Pray for Us Sinners, Now, and at the hour of Our Death! Amen.

Incense Highly! Incense Lowly....

Literally. Not the "praise-liturgical-worship-gospel-life dance" version, but the way It should be...

How not to pose for an episcopal picture!

This is the Bishop of Newfoundland, Fr. Martin William Currie when giving an interview to "The Telegram" a provincial newspaper.

Here is another one
I in no way mean to make of him, no. For he is a good bishop from what I know. Except, he doesn't always wear his Clerical collar! grr!

Now I lay me down to sleep...

I am soon going to settle myself to bed, but before that ... I have some news. The Premier of Newfoundland, Danny Williams is out of province for heart surgery. He is a very devout Catholic, and I do believe that he is Pro-Life. Canada needs him severely ... with Harper and all being Prime Minister (ugh!). Please pray that he will have a fast recovery. I also would like to tell you the the FSSP and the FSSP are two-different things.I discovered this tonight by accidentally going to www.thefssp.org.uk which is a fire brigade traning program thing. It is called the FSSP, and is the the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. Goodnight, and God Bless!

And yes, when I go to bed ... I still say the "Now I lay me Down to Sleep" prayer, because my grandmother taught it to me, along with the Guardian Angel prayer +

St Mary's, Rochester

Now... I am all sure that most of thee know about St. Mary's in downtown Rochester .... right? Yes. Cleansing Fire has posted on them many, many times. The headaches....*cough*..I mean the Masses that go on their are surely full of abuses and heterdoxy .... am I correct? Well... I was browsing through the website, and I clicked on the "Links" tab, and Lo and Behold ... there is a link to "Fortunate Families". Fortunate Families is a gay advocacy group that deals with families with gay sons and daughters. Next to the link it says this (with my comments):

Grounded in Catholic tradition {No, for it cannot be grounded in Catholic tradition if it is pro-homosexual}, Fortunate Families {Why is it called this...are they saying that it is very good that parents have children who are smothered in sin and pride?}ministers {ministers?} primarily with Catholic parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender daughters and sons—but welcomes families of all faiths. When parents explore and value their personal stories, they are empowered to share that story with their family circle, their faith community and the larger society {This is not acceptable}.
Why am I not surprised. I am really disappointed in them, and I am sure I am not the only one.

What are they teaching these days!!

I have unfortunately had the pleasure of browsing through a Grade 6 religion text book from the school district in my area. What a headache it gave me! It is called "Journeys through Faith!" but is more properly titles "Distortions of Faith!". It is one of the more, err liberal .... thats not the word, umm .... very far left .... umm, lets just go with uberliberal. Yes. It is one of the most uberliberal books I have ever layed hands on. It teaches that Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Aboriginal religions are all a key to salvation. Heresy. It also has a chapter called "Her Gift" or "Josies Gift" or something like that. Anywho, it then goes on to say that her gift from God is litrgical dance! It then, in the corner of the page shows a Catholic Church with two happy-go-clappy women dancing infront of the altar in a flimsy dress and a tshirt. There is a bishop there, too. Guess what he is doing: absolutely nothing. He is sitting there just watching having the time of his life. It also has some obnoxious art from the modern artist (I cringe) "He Qi"

look at some of his ""art""

These children, mere children are being taught falsely. They are not learning about religion, they are learning about how to grow up and be good heretics. They are learning that blasphemy is good, and will earn you salvation. Well, thats not how it is. What ever happened to good ol' education that you see in some orthodox Catholic schools today. I am upset with it, and it is really sad to hear that these poor children will be taught this stuff.

The Japanese Faithful

Japan is a country where their Catholic population has been under persecution more than once, and where Church attendancy is ---- high! Although only about 1.8% of Japan is Catholic, I have caught this one photo from the Nagasaki Urukami Cathedral. Although there is liturgical abuses going on (no Chasuble)... I suppose they are trying their best.... just look at all of those mantillas!

The Poll, Libera and the Holy Father

I seem to be the Loyal readers' second favourite behind Cleansing Fire! Woohoo! That is basically saying that you love my blog, but if you had to pick one blog able to read on a remote island in the middle of who-knows-where you would pick Cleansing Fire, and if that wasn't available you would me mine. Good enough I say, that is an excellent choice!!! Also, I have been watching this video lots of times lately .... it is Libera's new song, from the soon-to-be released album "Peace" called "Time". It is absolutely beautiful. If you do not know who Libera is, well they are a boyschoir from England. That is to put it small. They sang for the Pope a few times, singing for the Holy Father's Mass at Yankee Stadium at the end of his visit to the USA.

New Title Image

Okay, last night I updated my title to a Septuagesima themed one. I hope you like it!
