HEY COMPUTER EXPERTS!!!!
Now that I have your attention, do any of ye know what is wrong with my laptop? It will connect to the internet, and I can visit a few sites. Then, all of a sudden it disconnects, but the little icon down in the corner of the screen (the little computer with the earth in front of it) says I am still connected.My WiFi button says it's on.
So, what's wrong?

Could be a virus or some other kind of malware futzing things up. Most security programs are pretty good these days but the bad stuff still does get through now and then.
Whenever my computer starts doing mysterious things I "dance the Windows Waltz." I know that sounds weird but it has bailed me out in the past more than once.

Yes, it can be very time consuming but I've never known it to fail. Also, pay attention to those free programs Nick mentions. Run frequently, they are very good at getting junk off your computer you never knew was there.
